Today is Pi Day! For those of you not in the know - it's 3-14, or 3.14. Get it? Pi Day?
I didn't know that, either, until Gretchen told me. A day set aside for pi/pies. Will I ignore a holiday? Umm, no. At 3:14 this afternoon, we will enjoy a pie potluck up in the conference room. This morning, for class, I joined the many who have tried pie pops.
I used Pillsbury pie dough for a nice predictable outcome (not to mention the fact that I made scratch dough for the office pie, and even I know when to say when). I did make a scratch apple filling but only because I didn't have pie filling in the pantry. They baked at 450 for about 12 minutes.
Now I'm dreaming of buttermilk chess pie and easy cranberry-apple pie (well, it's cake but it's in a pie pan so it counts) for lunch... Hope that your day is as happy!
