My 49th birthday happened to fall during spring break this year. That meant no class, and I could stay up as late as I wanted to. A large part of that late-night-fun was getting reports done for the office. But there were a few other nights when I managed to read a LOT. Albany weather that week was ridiculously nice - 70 degrees or so. Some summer button inside of me snapped, and I had to go to the library and carry out a pile of books.
I'll share that list later. Reading lots of new books is one of the fifty adventures I plan to have before I turn 50 next year. This week, I slipped another experience in there that was NOT on the list: taking Percosat (sp?). I managed to break my right arm Monday evening. So here goes a few weeks of limited typing, sewing, and dressing (or so I'd suppose).
I've been incredibly blessed with concerned friends who've provided me with food and rides and care. Luckily, the break is near the shoulder, so there's no cast, only a sling, and my right hand does work as long as I'm careful. Kind parents have taken over my morning class; next week, we'll start the adventure of holding class at my house every morning. The office has been really understanding, too.
But if I'm going to be sitting around, it sure would be nice to be able to sew!
