Just reporting in that this summer, I managed to see Twelfth Night and Hamlet at Shakespeare & Co.; watched Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead on DVD; and bought the DVDs of Playing Shakespeare. "shakespeare" is always the easiest sticker for me to earn.
Speaking of Hamlet. Anyone want to talk Hamlet? Specifically Horatio. I'm so tired of seeing Horatio played as Watson or Colonel Pickering or Captain Hastings. The guy is Hamlet's best friend and still manages to survive. Not bad, considering the body count. Sure, he wants to die with Hamlet, but he has the courage to keep on living. So I want to see a wildly romantic Horatio - equal to Hamlet in personality, if not complexity. Is that even possible, given his lines?
