Tomato soup & english muffins

Thanks, everyone, who's playing Read for Fun with me! I currently have twelve books out of the library. I really need to make my library bag before I lose the books.

Before I post my most recent foray into cupcake-making, I need to prove that I can, in fact, make things without sugar.

See? Tomato soup, made from scratch, using yet another recipe from How to Eat Supper. And that there's a homemade sourdough english muffin with toasted cheese (I know, it looks like butter, but honest, it's not).

I spent most of last week on the road or at meetings, and now I'm home for a while. Two of those days were spent with internet friends, some of whom I met for the first time, and as always I was so impressed. I came home loaded with goodies from them and a cooler of goodies from Wegmans: pasta salad, watermelon, gazpacho, green beans, olives, etc. It wasn't until Sunday afternoon that I realized that I was starving and that I had bought nothing filling. Nothing. Hence, the muffins.

Pretty, huh? They're pretty tasty, too, even without the nooks and crannies.

those are gorgeous. i made king arthur's english muffin bread a few weeks ago and dan was in love. they sent me free flour and now we are king arthur devotees-- great marketing on their part :) and i think i'm seeing nooks and crannies, so your picture is either decieving or you are too modest. :)

do you not have wegs near you? i would have thought so, since you are in new york. i have to travel an hour to get to one, but they are building one 5 miles away next year-- CANNOT WAIT!

I looove that book how to eat supper. Course, i love just about every book i've ever met. my hub said to me yesterday, "honey i heard some guy talking about a book on npr yesterday. i think i saw it lying around here. name me some books you've read lately."
i drew a blank! i replied, "i read so many books i can't even name one. right now i'm reading 3 different ones. (i named those, that wasn't it.)
bye for now, just requested a slew of new ones from my library. Julie and Julia! have to read it before i see the movie. heard it's great, how about you??
