I'm sewing again! It's been awhile - I had to put the sewing machine away for company, and it always takes time to get it back out. This will be a skirt for Laura: a dropped yoke circle skirt. I'm trying to combine an Ottobre pattern and the Favorite Things Little Hip Skirt, and I've sewn the side seams about 50 times. Okay, only three times. It seems like 50.
Laura picked out the fabric herself. You'd wonder if that were true, if you could see what I've been sporting lately.
I've been traveling to NYC once a week or so, where I have to be able to move around with a camera, two tape measures, and graph paper. This shirt has been perfect. It looks much more professional when it's ironed.
The only problem is, it matches my measuring/carry-on/farmer's market etc. bag a little too well:
That's silly enough. But when your book matches, too, it's a bit much.
I do highly recommend that book and its sequel. Rebel Girl Scouts fight crime in NYC. You can get a taste of it here.
